In the Nursery is a three color conte drawing of a calm and displaced set of figures in a fetal position. The rich and fiery warm tones of the conte are carefully shaded in transparent layers. The segmented and broken figure is meant to evoke an out-of-body experience, or dream state.

19″ x 25″ – Charcoal

This is the first of a new series of drawings called “Plastic”. This face is one of the hardest I have worked on. The abstraction over the face is caused by pressure and tension as well as from light reflecting from plastic wrap over the face.

This drawing is of my nephew “Z”. The color and medium reflects the freshness of his wide – eyed pose. It was important that the final look appear raw, immediate and economical. The piece is not for sale, however the commission estimate below is what I would charge if you wished to have a portrait drawing in a similar size and quality.

This is a charcoal and conte drawing of a young girl with large eyes and a great smile. I really like how the freshness of the medium remains. It’s not overworked, but contains a life in the texture and the immediacy of the way it was drawn.

11 Drawings of my face and mouth. I am saying Yeah, Yeah, Yeah over and over again. There is no direct “meaning” to the piece. It is a fun, annoying and whimsical portrait.  At the end of the piece I finally say no. (not in this video) But not until 5 minutes of yeahs.
