Paper: 9″ x 12.5″ Frame: 12″ x 15″ – Color Pencil
Scott Hutchison’s Infinity is a color pencil drawing of two hands. It is a study for a painting titled: Tenuous Grip. The hands position looks like it could be making a symbol for Infinity. It’s fitting, as it relates to all of my latest work. My artistic research focuses on the idea that we are not a singular snapshot in time, but a product of a deeper pool of experiences. Most are based on digital collages I put together from multiple poses. Not Infinity. The irony is that this pose is quiet and contemplative. No movement except for the marks on the surface and the color transitions. Please go here to see the painting done from this sketch.
