A still life drawing of shoes I have collected over the years. When I drew this piece I saw a sweetness in the subject matter. However I also get a feeling of abandonment, or a sense of loss or neglect. Baby shoes sometimes appear in other works of mine over the years. They can carry a psychological weight that I find appealing. Such as in one of my drawings called: “Relic“.
