In many ways I see Blur as a fairly complex and honest self portrait. As I drew this animation I began to realize what it represents for me.
Like all of my work, this piece is introspective. It pushes me to ask questions of myself and it reflects a frustration and struggle I have with my place in this world. Who am I? What is important in this life? How do I achieve balance? I am an artist, father, son, husband, friend and teacher.
They do not all work together and therefore I struggle. With nashing teeth and clenched fists I am pushed and pulled. Life can be taxing and I have yet to realize my eyes are partially closed as I get lost in its dizzying spell.
