8.25″ x 12.25″ – Graphite Drawing
Held Spellbound is a graphite drawing study that became the impetus two for three paintings: Twist, Inside Out and another still in progress. The purpose of doing a study is to flush out the composition, darks, lights and proportional structure without the burden of using color and oil paint. I enjoy making studies, it’s an opportunity to experiment and tackle a subject that may or may not see the light of day.
